My comment on measurement was more general (e.g. how can you measure a road that is obstructed by a building in the foreground).

A couple other solutions that come to mind in Europe are C3 Technologies (http://www.c3technologies.com/) and Novasys (http://www.novasys.com/en/news/company/oblique-photos.html).

Wehrli & Associates also have an oblique camera on the market: http://www.wehrliassoc.com/prod_cam.htmRyan Strynatkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06588216957200772125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7547877823093266529.post-83830633842041423832009-02-02T10:24:00.000-04:002009-02-02T10:24:00.000-04:00Another question: Is this viewer breaking the pate...Another question: Is this viewer breaking the patent of Pictometry?

See:

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/search-bool.html&r=2&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PTXT&s1=pictometry&OS=pictometry&RS=pictometryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7547877823093266529.post-62289552639526688032009-02-02T10:04:00.000-04:002009-02-02T10:04:00.000-04:00Nice link you submitted. Do you also know other solutions with obligue photos?

You say:

"My view is that nadir photography is most appropriate for "measuring" objects within photos (GIS "backdrops", building areas, parcels, roads, etcetera)"

I would disagree. Measuring objects would also be good in obligue imaginery. I think you can do this with Pictometry already? Then you can measure windows etc - which you can not do on "standard" aerial photos. The problem is accuracy I guess, it`s more difficult to calculate even with a terrain model.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
